Our newest shoe arrivals are the quintessential spring booties that are absolute musts this season. The top bootie has a hidden platform, back zipper, suede lattice detail all in a soft dove grey color. We love this bootie paired with white denim as well as lighter grey denim and to show off the legs, this shoe looks incredible with a lot of the spring/summer dresses. The color and suede really make this shoe very light on the feet, which is what you want out of a spring bootie. This color is also moving forward into next season and would pair perfectly with tights for cooler weather functionality. Booties in the past were never a part of the spring/summer “approved” footwear list, but with our every-changing and unpredictable weather patterns as well as our feet needing a break from the whole sandal mentality, spring booties are being embraced by so many women of different ages and styles. The cognac lace-up peep toe bootie (above) is a perfect style that exemplifies this. It draws design inspiration from Victorian boots, yet the All-American cognac leather and stream-line silhouette give this bootie a reinvented freshness that appeals to even those hesitant to branch out into the bootie category. I love this shoe with any dress or skirt for the season. It can be very work appropriate and also fun to pair with all the chambrays, denims, and printed dresses/rompers of the season. Moving forward to Fall ‘10, I know it is tough to visualize; although I blogged about the trend earlier this season, the predominating look is to pair booties like this with trouser socks and bare legs as a transition before tights weather. I have to say after trying this myself, the look is really sexy and so easy to wear – trust me your feet will be happy as will your style.
Style Bottom Line: Booties aren’t going anywhere and these are two styles that are smart additions to any woman’s shoe wardrobe.
